Kristi Kanehen (she/her)

MFT Intern

Kristi is currently a student at Seattle Pacific University pursuing her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and certification in Medical Family Therapy.

Kristi believes that therapy should be a safe place where you are the expert in your own story and all things can be discussed. If it is something that is affecting you, regardless of how big or small it seems, it is something that deserves love, care, and attention. She believes that the therapy room is a place where people can bring their full, authentic selves without being judged as lesser than for the things they do not do, or too much for the things they do. She is interested in working with peripartum women (from conception to 1 year after birth), those working in education or the healthcare fields, women of color, and multi-racial couples.

Kristi has spent the last 15 years working in Higher Education as an administrator. She is Japanese-American, born in Hawaii, grew up in Southern California, and moved back to Hawaii for the last 3 years of high school with her family. She moved to Washington for college and has been here ever since.
